Christopher Hocking

Christopher Michael Hocking, 43, of Cottage Hills, Illinois and formerly of Venice, Illinois passed away at 3:46 p.m. on Monday, January 1, 2018 in Pontoon Beach, Illinois.  He was born April 28, 1974 in Granite City, Illinois, a son of Donna Sue (Nash) Hocking of Venice, Illinois and Robert Hocking of Wood River.  He had worked many years in security.  He enjoyed his younger days of attending church, being active with the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts and loved watching wrestling.  He was a 1992 graduate of Venice High School and later attended S.I.U.E.  He will be remembered for the love and special times shared with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Amanda (Armer) Hocking; his two sons, Christopher Michael Hocking Jr. and Jackson Bane Hocking; brother, Michael A. Katana; other extended family and many dear friends.  He was preceded in death by two sisters, Christina Michelle and Melissa Dawn Hocking.  In celebration of his life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Friday, January 5, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Terry Sutton officiating.  In lieu of floral tributes, memorials may be made to the Hocking family and may be accepted at the funeral home.  www.irwinchapel.com
