Christopher Daniel Stone, 29, passed away at 6:30 am on Thursday December 15, 2016 at home.
He was born on November 16, 1987 in Cleveland, OH, the son of Robert Michael and Sue Ann (Kalaskie) Stone.
He was an arborist, dedicated barber, avid hockey fan and player and enthusiastic video gamer who enjoyed the outdoors, rollerblading, collecting baseball hats. A former boy scout, Christopher loved his dog Pooky and was a kind and compassionate man. He was recently Confirmed at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Gonzales, LA.
He is survived by his parents Mike and Sue; three siblings: Michael (Andrea) Stone of Richmond, VA, Andrew Stone of Alton, and Christina Stone of Cleveland OH; three aunts: Mary Helen Kalaskie of Alton, Kathy Finnerty of NY, and Sarah Rose of Godfrey; four uncles: Frank Kalaskie of NY, John Stone of MI, Tom Stone of TX, and Jim Stone of TX; a grandmother: Betsy Bucher and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Helen C. Kalaskie; two cousins: JJ and Hannah Finnerty.
A Rosary Service will be held at 3:30pm followed by visitation from 4pm to 8 pm Wednesday December 21, 2016 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am Thursday December 22, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.
Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey.
