Christopher “Chris” N. Dawdy

Christopher “Chris”  N. Dawdy, age 55, of Godfrey, passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015, at his home with his family by his side.

 

He was born May 18, 1960, in Alton, the son of Everett and Virginia (McCaherty) Dawdy. He married Karen Niemeier on November 16, 1985, at the First Baptist Church of Alton, and she survives.

Chris was employed as vice president at Civil and Environmental Consultants in Hazelwood, MO. He was an avid waterfowl hunter and enjoyed hunting with his sons, brothers and friends. Chris was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Godfrey. His greatest joy was spending time and taking care of his family.

In addition to his wife, Karen; he is survived by three children and a son-in-law, Katelyn and Matthew Baahlmann of Alton, Nick Dawdy, and his girlfriend, Paige Baalman, of Godfrey, and Ryan Dawdy of Godfrey; a grandchild, Christopher Baahlmann; three brothers, Kevin and Arden Dawdy of Rosewood Heights, Greg Dawdy of Godfrey, and Andy Dawdy of Godfrey; three nephews, Chad Dawdy, Matt and Katie Dawdy, and Josh Dawdy; sister-in-law, Kathleen Niemeier; his close friends, Dan and Gina Cusac of Godfrey, and their sons, Ben and Kyle; and many other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2015, from 6 to 8:00 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 15, 2015, at 10:00 am, at Faith Lutheran Church in Godfrey with Rev. Daniel Speckhard officiating.

Burial will take place in Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Faith Lutheran Church in Godfrey, Cancer and Infusion Center at Missouri Baptist Hospital, or to BJC Hospice.
