Christine Ficker

Christine Elaine Ficker, 55, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 5:26 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at Evelyn’s House in Creve Coeur, Missouri.

She was born on December 20, 1969, in Granite City, the beloved daughter of Wes and Carol (Ingram) Doniff of Edwardsville. On October 2, 1993, Christine married the love of her life, Robert Alan Ficker, in Edwardsville. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories.

Christine dedicated more than 20 years of her professional life as a certified public accountant and business manager at Community School in Ladue, Missouri. For the past four years, she continued her accounting career with Day & Night Solar in Collinsville. Her work was marked by integrity, commitment, and care for those around her.

Beyond her professional life, Christine had a deep love for music—especially the poetry of song lyrics—and a big heart for greyhound rescue, a cause she supported for many years. One of her greatest joys was spending time at the family’s home at Kentucky Lake, where she cherished countless memories made with family and dear friends. She especially treasured the adventures and laughter shared with the “Big Bear Group” at the lake.

Family was at the center of Christine’s world. Over the past 13 years, she created and hosted FickerFest, a treasured annual tradition that brought together family and friends for food, fun, games, and lasting connection.

Christine is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 33 years, Robert; her loving parents, Wes and Carol Doniff; her children, Bo (Rachel) Ficker of Granite City, and Katie Ficker (fiancé Bryan Mueller) of St. Louis; and her four beloved grandchildren, Luke and Jake Ficker, and Lillee and Addy Mueller. She is also survived by her brother, Mark Doniff of Lake St. Louis, Missouri; her in-laws, Richard and Phyllis Ficker of Granite City; her brother-in-law, Rick (Tina) Ficker of Carpenter; and many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and lifelong friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Steve Ficker.

A memorial gathering celebrating Christine’s life will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Irwin Chapel, 39660 Maryville Road, Granite City, Illinois.

In lieu of flowers, Christine’s wish was for others to spend meaningful time with their loved ones in her memory. Memorial donations may also be made to Evelyn’s House, in appreciation for their compassionate care, and will be accepted at the funeral chapel.
