Chloe E. Denny, 89, went to be with the Lord at 7:55 am Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at Robings Manor in Brighton.
She was born on August 12, 1926 in Eldorado, IL, the daughter of Thomas and Mae (Cletcher) Grant.
She married Calvin L. Denny on March 10, 1946 in Eldorado at her parent’s home. He preceded her in death on January 12, 2011.
Chloe was a seamstress making many prom dresses and wedding dresses throughout her life. She also sold Avon Cosmetics for over 40 years. She collected funds for the Children’s Home for at least 25 years and was introduced into the Church of God Hall of Fame. She was a member of the Bethalto Church of God. She enjoyed camping and most of all spending time with her family and her church family.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Michael Moore and his fiancée, Amanda Henningfeld of Alton and Jeffery and Katie Moore of Seattle, WA; seven great grandchildren, Christopher, Devin, Austin, Brady, Nicholous, Eric and Hayden; a niece, Darris “Tippy” Lue Bonnell and a nephew, Donald Denny
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Angela Moore, a grandson, James Scott, her sisters, Helen Shelton and Flo Headrick.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Friday, November 6, 2015 at the Bethalto Church of God, where funeral services will be at 11 am on Saturday, November 7, 2015 with Rev. Don Arnold officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
