Chet Perkinson

Chet A. Perkinson, age 59, passed away at 11:19 pm on Saturday, June 11, 2016 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO with his family by his side. He was born on September 13, 1956, in Alton, Illinois, the son of the late Charles J. & Sharon Y. (Keener) Perkinson. Chet was a laborer for the Olin Corporation for over 35 years retiring in 2014. He enjoyed playing music with his family, spending time at his private hill with his horses, fishing, drawing, painting, and spending time with his family and friends. Most of all he will be missed for his smile and hug for every person he met. He married Vickie L. (Brueggeman) on June 19, 1976 in Shipman, IL. He is survived by his wife Vickie; one son and daughter-in-law, Mike & Christi Perkinson of Jerseyville; two grandchildren, Katie and Keira Perkinson; three siblings and their spouses, Charlie Ray Perkinson of Delhi, Carla & Jim Driver of Dow and Scott & Rhonda Perkinson of Delhi and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Friday, June 17, 2016 at the funeral home with Rev. Ray Robinson officiating. Memorials may be made out to the family. Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto will be in charge of arrangements.
