Cheri Hamby

East AltonCheri Lynn Hamby, 50, passed away on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, at Alton Memorial Hospital.She was born on May 8, 1966, in Alton, IL, the daughter of Clyde Hamby and Sandra Sebastian.Cheri enjoyed drawing and had a great interest in Native American artifacts.Survivors include her mother, Sandra of Bethalto; three brothers, Paul Hamby and his wife Holly of Bethalto, Robert Hamby of Wood River, Scott Hamby of Wentzville, Missouri; one sister, Nicole Hamby of Bethalto; her life partner, Belinda Lenon and her children, Zachary Lenon, Kyle Lenon, Ariel Kabat, and Torrie Lenon, whom she considered to be her children; her fur baby, Toby; and many nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her father, Clyde; paternal grandparents, Louise and Monroe Hamby; and maternal grandparents, Paul Soliz and Marsha Bilyi.A memorial visitation will be held from 1 to 3 pm on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.Cremation rites have been accorded.Memorials may be given to Madison County Humane Society.Online condolences can be given at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com.
