Bethalto—Charles W. Bradley, 95, passed away at 9 p.m. Monday, July 23, 2018 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.
Born Dec. 19, 1922 in Equality, IL, he was a son of Steven “Jack” Bradley and Elizabeth (Wargle) Bradley.
He married Charlotte Ruth Long Jan. 4, 1944 in Wood River. She preceded him in death on Jan. 21, 2010.
Charles worked as a union bricklayer and was former owner of Bradley Masonry for several years.
Survivors include three children, Steve (Nancy) Bradley, Stan (Sue) Bradley, and Susie (Perry) Lorts, all of Bethalto; 8 grandchildren, Kristin (Steve) Slocum, Kellie (Clark) Srum, Terra Bradley, Chad (Nichole) Bradley, Chala (Andy) Walsh, Kyle (Leanne) Lorts, Kory (Paige) Lorts, and Kerry (Stephanie) Lorts; nine great grandchildren, Grayson, Benton, June, Charlotte, Wesley, Taylor, Makenzi, Ethan, Kennedy, and another great granddaughter due in September; and two sisters, Marcella Elder of Pevely, MO and Frances Seiverding of Sturgis, KY.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Charles Bradley; his parents; two sisters, Dorothy and Teresa Tite; and three brothers, Valentine “Pal”, John and Bob Bradley.
Visitation will be Friday, July 27 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 10 a.m. until services begin at 12 p.m.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or a charity of one’s choice.
