Charles R. “Bob” Wilson, 69, passed away at 4:09 a.m. on Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
He was born on January 26, 1948 in Cairo, IL the son of Alvin Robert Wilson and Ramona Lucille (Rose) Siegfried.
He married Bonnie S. Slanker on May 24, 1975 in Alton. She survives.
Bob graduated from Roxana High School where he played football. He served in the United States Army. Bob enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting. Bob has enjoyed traveling with Bonnie in their retirement years. He was a long time member of the Alton Wood River Sportsmens Club.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Tiffany (Zimmerman) Dunham and Jeff of Brighton, Jaime (Wilson) Ditterline and Jimmy of Brighton; one son, Nick Wilson of Brighton; three grandchildren, Ashley Dunham, Tyler Dunham, Tristyn Ditterline and a great granddaughter on the way. Two siblings, Barbara (Bill) Stack of Brighton, Darold (Joanna) Wilson of Sparta, IL.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 29, 2017 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 30, 2017 with Pastor Steve Rice officiating.
Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery in Alton where military rites will be performed by the Alton VFW Post 1308.
