Charles Michael Asperger, 59, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 1:15 a.m. Wed. Feb. 2, 2022, at his home.
He was born May 15, 1962, in Granite City to the late Joseph & Bernadine (Varley) Asperger.
Charlie had been a carpenter and general contractor most of his life. He owned and operated a custom home company based in the Metro East. He enjoyed spending time with his family, restoring old cars, fishing and going to flea markets. Florida was his favorite place and he had hoped to retire there one day.
He is survived by a daughter: Ashley (Ben) Ambuel of Edwardsville, IL; 2 sons: Aaron Michael Asperger and Justin Ryan Asperger of Granite City; 3 grandchildren: Noah Ambuel, Lucas Ambuel, and Grace Asperger; a brother: Richard (Stacy) Asperger of St. Augustine, FL; and a former spouse: Debra Handlon.
Private burial will be at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Edwardsville.
