Charles Hatfield

Retired Senior Chief Petty Officer Charles Dean Hatfield, a proud combat veteran of the United States Navy and recipient of two Purple Hearts, is remembered with deep love, honor, and gratitude. Charles dedicated 30 years of faithful service to his country, serving with courage, strength, and distinction in the United States Navy.

Following his honorable military career, Charles continued his life of service and dedication through a 20-year career with J.B. Hunt, where he was respected for his work ethic, commitment, and integrity. His life reflected perseverance, loyalty, and devotion to both his country and his family.

Charles was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He will be remembered for the legacy he leaves behind, the love he gave to his family, and the example of honor and sacrifice he set throughout his life.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Valentina Hatfield; his children, Michael Hatfield and wife Bobbi Hatfield, Troy Hatfield, and Natasha Baskiene and husband Tomas Baskys; his grandchildren, Robert Hatfield, James Hatfield, Ashlee David, Timotiejus Baskys, Anastasja Garbaniova, and Alice Katysevas; and his great-grandchildren, Conner Kisling, River Hatfield, Finley David, Chloe David, and Castiel Hatfield.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Hatfield and Vivian Hatfield; his brother, Victor Hatfield; and his son, Evgenijus “Jack” Katysevas.

Memorial visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 22 at Paynic Home for Funerals.  Graveside services with full military honors will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 23 at Woodland Hill Cemetery.

Charles Dean Hatfield’s life was one of service, sacrifice, and love. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, and his legacy of courage and devotion will never be forgotten.
