Charles E. "Junior" Watson, 80, died at 10:26 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at Jerseyville Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. Junior was born on March 31, 1931 in Grafton, one of two sons born to the late Charles & Reba (Cunningham) Watson, and graduated from Jersey Township High School. He retired from Coca-Cola Bottling Company in 1987 after 35 years of service, and loved to watch and play basektball, enjoyed golfing, vacationing with his family, and thoroughly enjoyed being surrounded by his family at every family gathering.  While in grade school, Junior met the former Patsy Ann Baecht, and the two married on Oct. 1, 1949 in Jerseyville.  Together they shared 62 years together and raised their six children in a home full of love and laughter.In addition to his wife, Patsy, he is survived by five children & their spouses, Wendy & John Maupin of Grand Rivers, Ky. Terri & Brady Young of Jerseyville, Kevin Watson, Diane & Denny Crank and Michael Watson all of Dow; 10 grandchildren, Christi Ferch and her husband, David of Minnesota, Amy Duncan, Nathan Maupin, Katie Walker, and her husband, David all of Kentucky, Jamie Young of Champaign, Il., Matthew Young and his wife,  Rebecca of Brighton, Kari Young of Cape Girardaueu, Mo.,  Jordan Watson and Paige Watson both of Jerseyville, Mallorie Peebles of Dow; nine great grandchildren; and a brother, Carl Watson of Las Vegas, Nevada.He was preceded in death by his parents, and a beloved daughter, Kimberly Ann Watson on Oct. 15, 1978.Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Saturday.Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to the Alzheimers Association.
