Charles D. Leady, 80, our loving dad, grandpa and 'pa', passed from this life on September 23, 2014 at his home.

Born in Geff, IL on May 5, 1934, he was the son of Elmer F. and Julia M. (Martin) Leady.

He had been employed for the Brass Division of Olin Corporation for 42 years before retiring; and had been an active member of the United Pentecostal Church in Wood River for over 25 years.

Charles married the former Norma L. Day on April 5, 1966 in Wood River.  She died November 7, 2013.

Surviving are his daughters, Tonya (Roger) Risinger of Bremen, KY, Dawn (Terry) Williams of Alton, Robin Farris of Texas, Belinda (Raymond) Edelen of Georgia, Laurie Monroe of Texas; two sons, Mark (Nancy) Leady, Drew (Shelley) Leady all of Alton; son -in-law, Carl Bryant; seven grandchildren, Chamah (Bryan) Thrasher, Amanda (Michael) Lindsey, Christy (Mike) Vanhorn, Amber (Jimmy) Norris, Chad (Mandy) Bryant, Angel (Kris) Bailey, Autumn (Jon) Hardin; 10 great grandchildren, Landon and Brian Norris, Abbigail and Noelan Lindsey, Victoria Thrasher, Brock Vanhorn, Aidan and Colt Bryant, Audriana Hardin, Jaxson Bailey; three brothers, Willard Grove, Bill and Bob Leady; extended family; and a very special friend, Brother Paul Roberts.

Preceding him in death were his parents; loving wife; daughter, Lucinda Bryant in August of 2004; great grandchildren, Brittany Thrasher in 2002 and Adam Vanhorn in 2003.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the United Pentecostal Church in Wood River, where services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday.  Pastors Lee Jackson and Larry Hamby will officiate.

Burial will be in Bowers Cemetery near Alsey, IL.

Memorials may be made to United Pentecostal Church in wood River.

Marks Mortuary in Wood River is in charge of arrangements.
