Charles “Chuck” R. Dreith, of Moro, Illinois, surrounded by his loving family singing his favorite hymns met Jesus on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at Alton Memorial Hospital, Alton, IL.
Chuck was born on December, 26, 1937 in Alton, Illinois. He is the son of the late George H Dreith, Sr, and the late Ruth A. (Wood) Dreith. Chuck married his first wife, L. Lorraine Jacobs on July 12, 1957 at the Spring Street Assembly of God, who preceded him in death.
Chuck is survived by his loving wife, JoAn; a daughter, Joni (Tim) Bunt of Rosewood Heights; a son Charles A. “Chuck” (Mary) Dreith of Burlington, Ontario Canada and their sons Josh and Nick; step-children, Jay (Jodi) Chester of Wood River, Kris (Wayne) Meinhard of Wood River, Eric (Kelly) Chester of Meadowbrook; 12 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 brother, Clyde (Joann) Jones of Bethalto; 2 sisters, Mary Lou (Gary) Lockard of Godfrey and Ruth Ann (Lowell) Reeves of Missouri; and a host of nieces, nephews and loved ones. He was also preceded in death by 3 brothers: George, Donald and Louie Dreith.
Chuck was retired from Laclede Steele Co as a printer. He was a member of The Salvation Army Church, a former member of the Bethalto Boys and Girls Club and Auxiliary Police Officer in Bethalto.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto where funeral services will be held at 11 am Tuesday, January 9, 2018 with Majors Gary and Donna Van Hoesen officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
