Charlene H. Yungck, 64, died at 2:35 a.m. Sunday, January 20, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO. Born May 27, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio, she was the daughter of Charles and Helen (Rose) Hemler. She was nurse at St. Mary’s Hospital in Clayton, MO and had worked in the family business, Yungck Medical, in Alton. She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church where she enjoyed volunteering at the school. On October 13, 1973 she married James E. Yungck in Creve Coeur, MO. He preceded her in death on January 2, 1994. Surviving is a daughter and son-in-law, Lauren and Jerome Jacobs of Godfrey, a son, Ben Yungck of Godfrey, three grandchildren, Ellie, Keller, and Rylie Jacobs, one brother, Michael Hemler of South Bend, Indiana, two sisters, Carol Quenette of Springfield, IL, and Patricia Hemler of Topeka, KS, and her mother-n-law, June Yungck of Godfrey. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2013 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2013 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church. Father Peter Donohoe will officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
