Charlene F. Conley, 90, passed away on December 7, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.
Charlene was born on October 25, 1928 in Alton, IL and was the daughter of Charles F. Conley and Irma (Schuler) Conley. Char was a long-time elementary school teacher and community volunteer. Her life was filled with quiet generosity and service to others.
Char will be missed by her nieces Paula (Stuart) Damore, Marilyn (Carolyn) Morrissey, Ann (Harry) Davidson and Elizabeth Stringfellow; nephews Dan (Jane) Morrissey and Matthew (Eileen) Morrissey; grandnieces and grandnephews Christina, Pete, John, Maddie, Natasha, Nate, Courtney, Marissa and Monica and their spouses and children.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Margaret and Paul Morrissey, her grandnephew, Matthew Paul Morrissey, and a host of friends.
Visitation will be from 11 am until time of funeral at 12 pm Monday, December 10, 2018 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton.
Burial will follow at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Godfrey.
Memorials may be directed to the Crisis Food Center or Boys and Girls Club in Alton.
