Chad Michael Ohley, 41, of Alton, IL, passed away at 11:56 a.m. Sat. Feb. 9, 2019 at OSF St. Anthony's Health Center in Alton.
He was born Mar. 11, 1977 in Alton to the late James P. Ohley and Marilyn J. (Hampton) Ohley Stemm.
Most of his life he was a laborer, pool installer and landscaper. He enjoyed dirt bikes, races, pit crew, skateboarding, the river, boating and going on road trips. He loved his family first and foremost. He had the biggest heart and always enjoyed helping others, which gave him the most pride. He was the most loving, free-spirited and hard-working individual. He never met a stranger. He loved kids and animals. He was loved more than he ever knew, and will be greatly missed by all. Chad has changed his address; he is now in Heaven. He will live on in the most tremendous way.
Survivors include 2 sisters: Dianna Hirschberg of Brighton, IL and her son and 2 step-children, Jordan Hirschberg of Brighton, Heather Hirschberg of FL and Ryan Hirschberg of CO and April (Jeff) Brown and their children, Austin Brown and Dylan Brown, of Brighton; a step-sister: Chastity Randle of Shiloh, IL and her daughter, Paige Stemm also of Shiloh; and a very special aunt, Laurie Middleton. In addition, he leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two siblings, Jeanette and James Ohley; his maternal grandparents Harold C. Hampton and Claire Lorraine Wethington Hinthorne and paternal grandparents James H. Ohley and Jessie Lee Ohley; and several aunts and uncles.
A celebration of his life will be 12-6 p.m. Saturday, March 2 at the Godfrey Knights of Columbus.
