Cecile Olivier Daumueller, 83, of Freeburg, IL, born February 5, 1942, in Ville Platte, LA, died Friday, January 23, 2026, at Cedar Trails Senior Living, Freeburg, IL.
Cecile Olivier Daumueller was the best mom anyone could ever ask for and will be greatly missed by her girls, Kara and Megan. Everyone who met Cecile instantly felt her warmth and knew she was a special person.
Cecile grew up surrounded by family in Louisiana. Whether it was making a pot of gumbo or teaching her grandkids how to peel crawfish or paque paque with Easter eggs, her Cajun roots were ever present and she always longed for another visit down south.
A career as a social worker suited Cecile to a tee as she genuinely connected with others. Kindness, compassion, empathy, and nonjudgmental understanding was who she was.
Cecile adored her grandchildren; Aidan, William, Anna, Maya and Mia, appreciating them as unique individuals with so much to offer this world.
Cecile felt so lucky to have found the perfect partner in her husband Bill Daumueller. The two had a loving marriage, raising their two girls and making so many good memories together. They enjoyed the company of many special friends and family, hosting the BEST parties in their beautiful historic home that many in the Freeburg area know so well.
Cecile’s was a life well lived. Her love and compassion carry on in the hearts of her children and grandchildren who are so lucky and grateful to have been loved by someone so special. We will miss her so much and will always strive to live up to the ideals she so naturally embodied.
Cecile was preceded in death by her husband William “Bill” Daumueller; her parents, Jacques “Jake” and Elma, nee Veillon, Olivier; and her siblings, Robert Olivier, Jaqueline Vidrine, nee Olivier, and Albert Olivier.
Surviving are her two daughters, Kara Daumueller-Morrell (Tim Morrell) and Megan Daumueller-Cook (Todd Cook); and five grandchildren, Aidan Morrell, William Cook, Anna Morrell, Maya Cook, and Mia Morrell.
