Catherine VonRohr

Catherine Marie VonRohr, age 76 of Pierron, IL, passed away Monday, March 30, 2026, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

She was born on Monday, August 1, 1949, at Marine Corp Air Station Cherry Point in Havelock, NC, the daughter of Kenneth and Venita (nee Korte) Seifried.

On Saturday, July 19, 1969, she married Richard Lewis "Rich" VonRohr in Highland, IL, who passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2009.

She was a member of VFW Aux. Post #5694 and the Highland Historical Society.

Cathy was born in Cherry Point, NC, where her father was stationed for military service. The family moved back to Highland and Cathy grew up west of Highland and attended St. Jacob School and graduated Triad High School in 1967. She got married and stayed home as her children grew up. After her youngest child was off to school she worked at the Highland Rifle and Pistol Club as Manager, and later at Highland Health Care as a Cook. She then worked at St. Joseph Hospital as a cook until retirement. She enjoyed Scrapbooking, Quilting, Crocheting, playing Bingo and attending Flea Markets.

Survivors include: Children - Lisa D. (Scott) Riegel, Highland, IL and Tracy R. (Jacquie Mayfield) VonRohr, Pocahontas, IL; Grandchildren - Kory S. (Lindsay) Riegel and Brandon S. (Abbi Mehlberg) Riegel; Great Grandchildren - Kylee A. Riegel, Kole A. Riegel and Avery Riegel; Sisters - Patricia A. Steiner, Christine L. (Danny) O'Dell and Mary L. (Kevin) Osiek; Sister-In-Law - Sherry Seifried and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Richard L. "Rich" VonRohr; parents - Kenneth V. Seifried and Venita A. Seifried (nee Korte); Brothers - David E. Seifried Sr. and Keith E. Seifried; Father-In-Law & Mother-In-Law - Sylvan & Jeanette (nee Kaiser) VonRohr.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Monday, April 6, 2026, at Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

A Graveside Service and Interment will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner's Hospital or Disabled American Veterans.
