Carolyn Sue Wood, 90, passed away Sunday, January 21, 2024 at Eden Retirement Center in Glen Carbon.
Born February 9, 1933 in Hartford, she was the daughter of Calvin Foster and Pearl Frances (Robertson) Oglesby.
Sue had been a purchasing agent for Famous-Barr and also worked for ConAgra and Malickrodt Pharmaceuticals before retiring.
She enjoyed working in her garden, animals and birds as well as fishing.
Surviving are a son, Ward "Scott" (Sandra) Wood of South Roxana; three daughters, Suzanne (Jim) Simpson of Edwardsville, Kathleen (Jeff) Ory of Marine, Andraya (Jeff) Johnson of White Fish, MT; 13 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; former husband, Jacque E. Wood; daughter, Amanda E. Wood-Kaylor; grandson, Michael Scott Wood; brother, Bill Oglesby; and sister, Wynoka Miller.
Visitation will be from 9 am until time of service at 10:30 am, Thursday, January 25 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River. Her grandson, Michael Dinnius will officiate.
Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials are suggested to the Alzheimer's Disease Foundation.
