Caroline Theresa (Schetter) Witt, 81, of Moro, passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at her residence.
She was born on October 7, 1936, in Godfrey, IL. The daughter of Joseph Henry and Caroline (Nolan) Schetter, both have preceded her in death. Caroline married Aaron Dean Witt on January 5, 1957 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey, he also preceded her in death.
Caroline enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved baking and crocheting. She graduated from Marquette Catholic High School in 1954.
She is survived by 7 children, Marion J Witt of Collinsville, OK, Michael (Lisa) Witt of Cottage Hills, Mark Witt of Moro, Monica (Ron) Schwartz of St. Louis, Melanie (Will) Roberson of Cottage Hills, Deana (Scott) Hyden of Moro and Gina (Derek) Walker of Bethalto; 10 grandchildren, Ron and Julia Schwartz, Dan Schwartz, Becky Schwartz, Joey Witt, Mathew Witt, Justin and Whitney Witt, William Roberson, Derek Lee Walker, Drake Walker, and Olivia Hyden; 2 great grandchildren, Kolbee Witt and Aubrey Schwartz; sister-in-law Patricia Schetter; brothers-in-law, Ray (Geraldine) Witt of Fosterburg, Ben Witt of Fosterburg, and Gary (Elaine) Witt of Fosterburg.
Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death brothers, Joseph Schetter, Leon Schetter; sisters, Barbara Joehl, Anna Heafner, Josephine Tipsword, Elizabeth Ely and Christine Kraushaar.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 4, 2018 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Funeral service will be Thursday, April 5, 2018 at 10 am at Our Lady Queen of Peace in Bethalto. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Bethalto. Arrangements are through Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
