Caroline Mary Pritchett, 84, of Alton, IL, passed away at 10:35 a.m. Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born November 11, 1932 in Alton, IL to Joseph and Laura (Vitale) Tardino.
On September 26, 1959 she married James E. Pritchett. He preceded her in death December 7, 1984.
Caroline worked as a housekeeper for several years at the St. Francis Convent. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and formerly of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella and the Altar Society. She loved the Cardinal’s, bingo, lottery scratchers and being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by three sons: David (Linda) Pritchett Tom (Kim) Prichett all of Alton and Greg (Laura) Pritchett of Godfrey; a daughter, Barbara (Tom) Stutz , also of Alton; 4 grandchildren: Michael (Jennifer) Pritchett, Matthew (Samantha) Pritchett, Meghan Pritchett and Brandon Pritchett; a step-grandchild, Tristan Gibson; 4 great grandchildren: Carlie, Clayton, Evlynn & Emerysn Pritchett; and 2 sisters-in-law: Catherine Tardino of Wood River and Josie Tardino of Alton.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Angie Cuttone and 2 brothers, Vincent and Anthony Tardino.
Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Sun. Nov. 27, 2016 at Paynic Home for Funerals. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Mon. Nov. 28, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. Burial will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey.
