Carol Marie Skibbe
Born November 5, 1937 in Arlington Heights, Illinois, to the late August and Laura Lange. Carol passed away on January 25, 2024.
On August 2, 1958, she married Robert Skibbe at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Arlington Heights, Illinois. They made homes in Decatur, Taylorville, and Jerseyville, Illinois.
Carol graduated from Concordia Teacher's College in River Forest, Illinois. She then earned a master's degree from SIU-Edwardsville, Illinois. She taught 4th grade for St. Paul's Lutheran School in Decatur; and then kindergarten for Jersey Community School district in both Fieldon and Jerseyville, Illinois. She was an active member of Hope Lutheran Church in Jerseyville. She taught painting and quilting classes during her retirement.
Surviving are her husband, Robert; three children, Cheryl (Tom) Geyer, Karin (John) Kennedy, and Kevin (Kathryn) Skibbe; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Shirley Tetmeyer.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 29, 2024, from 9:30 am until time of service at 11 am, at Hope Lutheran Church in Jerseyville, with Pastor David Otten officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.
