Carol J. Nance 81, of Jerseyville, passed away on Saturday December 29, 2018 at Jersey Community Hospital.
She was born on July 7, 1937 in Batchtown, the daughter of Harry and Julia Coughlin.
Carol married Lewis L. Nance on October 8, 1955 and he preceded her in death on February 1, 2011.
She retired from the Jerseyville Post Office after 17 years of service. She enjoyed cooking and shopping.
Carol is survived by three children, Lewis (Marsha) Nance of Brighton, Susan (Kenneth) Hines of Jerseyville and Eric Nance along with his Fiancée’ (Rachael Meyer) of Jerseyville; her grandchildren, Courtney (Chris) Cooley, Lindsay (Dax) Garrison, Shane (Christine) Nance, Michael Hewlett, Kelly (Aaron) Neff, Ashley and Alicia Allgood, her great grandchildren, Clair and Carson Cooley, Ellie and Jack Garrison, Quinn Nance, Wyatt and Emily Neff.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one sister, Iris Lee Gress.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 pm Wednesday January 2, 2019 at Gress Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Hardin where funeral services will be held at 10 am Thursday January 3, 2019.
Burial will be at St. Michael Cemetery in Michael.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
