Carol Elaine Doles, 67, died unexpectedly Sunday, October 5, 2014 at her residence.
Born in Alton on April 11, 1947, she was the daughter of Mary Lue Ewing of Meadowbrook and the late Emil Ewing.
A homemaker, she was a dedicated member of Day Spring Four Square Church in South Roxana, who touched many lives in her years and will be sadly missed.
She married Patrick Doles on February 28, 2002 in Godfrey. He survives.
Surviving in addition to her mother and husband are two daughters, Michelle Schardam (Travis Nance) of South Roxana, Renee Burgess of Grafton; step-son, John Doles of Alton; step-daughter, Michelle Doles of Edwardsville; five grandchildren, Amber and Markas Fee, Richard McKnight, Jessie Cole and Nicholas Frenz; a great grandson, Noah Surtani; and three sisters, Joyce Grayson and Patty Kivet both of Alton, Donna Wathern of Meadowbrook.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Marks Mortuary in Wood River, where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday. Pastor Norman Wilfong will officiate.
Burial will be in Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
