Carol A. Rynders, 81, passed away at 1:25 a.m., Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at her home under the care of St. Anthony’s Hospice.
She was born in Alton on March 13, 1935 the daughter of Edward and Eleanor (Bertier) Dean.
Carol married Robert L. Rynders on February 27, 1954 at St. Ambrose in Alton. He preceded her in death on December 23, 1994.
Carol was an active member at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She was a bridge player and enjoyed volunteering at St. Anthony’s. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal’s fan, enjoyed working in her yard, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by four children, Debbie (Rolla) Hessel of St. Louis, Mark (Brenda) Rynders of Alton, Linda (Robin) Meade of Litchfield, Don (Julie) Rynders of Waco, TX; nine grandchildren, Jonathan, Nathan and Tyler Hessel, Robert and Drew Rynders, Dustin and Michelle Rynders, Megan and Morgan Meade; and nine great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by one brother, Gerald Dean.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2016 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 23, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church or Senior Services Plus – Meals on Wheels.
