Carley June Gresham, 93, formerly of Wood River, passed away 9:17 am, Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Friendship Manor Nursing Home in Carlinville.
Born n Wood River on September 5, 1924, she was the daughter of Charles "Charley" and Vida Emiline (Luck) Harlan.
Carley was a volunteer with the American Red Cross, had worked for the Olin Corporation during WWII. She was a homemaker, loving mother and enjoyed cross stiitch, needle point and working jigsaw puzzles. She taught Sunday School and was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church in East Alton.
She and her husband traveled the country and had many friends they enjoyed traveling with. They spent winter months as 'snow birds" in Apache Junction, AZ where they took up residency after Francis "Bud" retired.
Carley had a way with words that would leave you speechless or laughing. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She was married on January 24, 1943 in East Alton to Francis "Bud" Gresham. He dies April 3, 2009.
Surviving are a son, Theodore K. "Ted" (Joanie) Gresham of Medora; three grandchildren, Apryl Gresham, Cathy Weatherby, Daniel Grussing; seven great grandchildren; two nephews and a niece.
Her parents; husband; brother, Herbert Harlan; sister, Helen Frasier, great grandson, Matthew Nathaniel Wright; and a niece, Della preceded in death.
Graveside services and burial will be at 1 pm, Tuesday, August 14 in Valhalla Memorial Park i Godfrey. Larry Harlan will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Foundation.
