Carlene Janie Miller, 91, of Granite City, Illinois, passed away peacefully at 8:53 p.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Evercare of Jerseyville.
She was born June 7, 1934, in Clarksville, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Leslie and Mary Elizabeth (Tucker) Evans.
Carlene devoted her life to caring for others, both personally and professionally. As a talented hairdresser, she proudly owned and operated Carlene’s Hair Fashions in Granite City for 25 years, where she not only styled hair but lifted spirits and built lasting friendships. She was a faithful and devoted member of Word of Life Tabernacle, where her kindness and unwavering faith touched many.
She had a gift for making people feel beautiful and valued. Carlene enjoyed shopping, camping, and embracing life’s simple pleasures. Known for her love of sparkle and flair, she brought a little extra shine wherever she went. She especially adored Dolly Parton and was affectionately known by many as “Little Dolly,” a nickname that perfectly reflected her vibrant personality and joyful spirit.
She is survived by her loving sister, Peggy Kezer of Alabama; two daughters, Vicky Walker of Missouri and Kim Heigert of Carlinville; many cherished grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a host of extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure her memory.
In addition to her beloved husband, Bill Miller, and her parents, she was preceded in death by six siblings.
In celebration of her life, and in accordance with her wishes, a graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon, with Reverend Cathy Crippen officiating.

Carlene will be remembered for her warmth, her laughter, and the sparkle she brought into the lives of all who knew her.
