Carla F. Corzine, 54, passed away Thursday, January 29, 2026.
Born May 19, 1971 in Alton, she was the daughter of Robert and Betty Davis.
Carla had worked as a cook in past years and became a loving homemaker when she met her life partner, Chester “Chet” Hammock. They shared over 17 years together until he passed away in March, 2023. Carla enjoyed singing karaoke and watching Cardinal baseball with Chet. She especially loved watching her grandchildren’s sporting events.
In addition to her parents, Carla is survived by two sons, Nick Corzine and Michael Abernathy; and two grandchildren, Axle Corzine and Macy Hart.
Carla was a Gold Star Mother, as her son, Lance Corporal Kenneth Corzine, was killed in action in 2010 while serving with the U.S. Marine Corps in Afghanistan. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Bobby Davis.
A memorial visitation will be Friday, Feb. 6 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 12 p.m. until memorial services begin at 2 p.m.
