Carl Bernard Oroake, age 84 of Litchfield, Illinois, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
Carl was born July 22, 1941, in Newton, Iowa, the son of Cecil B. and Margaret Mozelle Morrison Oroake. He grew up in Newton, Iowa, attending local schools, and graduating from Newton High School with the Class of 1959.
Carl at a young age, after his father’s bad health, took over the family plumbing business. He was a master plumber by the age of 21, many say one of Iowa’s youngest. He loved the family business and continued it for his mother for many years. Carl was plant manager at True Weld Grading for many years in Litchfield, Illinois.
On October 8, 1960, he and Ann Breckenridge were united in marriage out in Missouri. They have enjoyed almost 65 years of marriage. They had 2 children: Christopher Oroake, who passed away at age 56, and daughter Carla Snyder (Frank) who survives.
Long time residents of Litchfield, Illinois and faithful members of the St. Timothy United Methodist Church, Carl and Stephanie loved serving people and their Lord. They helped open a Soup Kitchen and Carl did the bookkeeping for the church until his health was failing. He also worked as Plant Manager at Tru and Weld in Litchfield.
He is survived by his wife Stephanie, daughter Carla and husband Frank, Grandchildren: Stephanie Oroake, Cory (Charlene) Oroake, Jean (Zack) Vaughn, Blake Snyder, and Brittni (Cameron) Borri. Great-grandchildren: Elodie, Julia, Conlin, Cambren, Carlton, Chrystopher, and Clayton.
