Carl Gene Creasy, 88, passed away on September 25, 2026 in Jerseyville, IL.
Carl was born on December 3, 1937 in Senath, MO to Elbridge Egward and Cora Emaline (Bone) Creasy.
He married the love of his life Barbara Lou Smith on August 10, 1957 in St. Louis, MO. They spent 69 wonderful years together.
Carl was a correctional officer for Graham Correctional facility in the State of Illinois. He enjoyed gardening and farming. He was a huge St. Louis Cardinal fan. Carl was mechanically inclined and enjoyed fixing things. He never met a stranger and was always on the move.
He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara; children, Dennis Creasy, Steven Creasy, Mitchell (Heidi) Creasy, Tammy (Quentin) Downing, and Angela (Steven) Bosoluke; grandchildren, Danielle, Haley, Adam, Lucas, Bradley, Spencer, Nicholas, Ryan, Kyle, Brandy, and Joshua; 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren with two more on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Carl is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Anna Sue Cross, one infant sibling, and a granddaughter, Chimene.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Jerseyville Manor for their exceptional care of Carl for the past three years.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 27, 2026 from 2:00 pm till 5:00 pm at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL.
Service will be held on Monday, September 28, 2026 at 10:00 am at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, IL.
Burial will follow at Fosterburg cemetery in Fosterburg, IL.
Memorials can be made to Fosterburg 4H club or Future Farmers of America – Jerseyville.
