C. Maurice Perdun, 83, died at 10:45 p.m., Monday, April 5, 2010 at Robings Manor Nursing Home in Brighton.He was born in rural Jerseyville on Sept. 7, 1926, and was one of five children born to the late Clarence "Jake" and Bonnie (Reynolds) Perdun.He was raised in Jersey County, and entered the U.S. Navy where he served in both World War II and the Korean Wars. While he was stationed in the east coast, he met his wife, the former Alene Hurley. The two married on Oct. 22, 1951 in Elkton, Maryland, and they remained on the east coast until they moved to Brighton for work. He began working construction, and later became employed at McDonnell-Douglas retiring in 1978 from shipping and receiving.Surviving are his wife, Alene Perdun of Brighton; four children & their spouses, Deborah & Mike Greene of Brighton, Ralph Perdun, and his companion, Vicky Roberts of Brighton, Stephanie & John Spradling of Ozark, Mo., and Lewis Perdun of Alton; 10 Grandchildren and their spouses, Sean & Lisa Cox of Greenville, Matthew Cox, and his companion, Melody Damico of Florissant, Mo., Tricia & Dustin Bloch of Alton, Eric & Pintip Perdun of Belleville, Dustin Barnes, and his fiance', Ralene of Nixa, Mo., Elizabeth Spradling of Springfield, Mo., Carrie Greene of Boston Ma., Corby & Toby Gates of Alton, Brenna & Tom Rogers of Ozark, Mo., and Pam & Ray Askren of Willard, Mo.; numerous great grandchildren; and a sister & brother in law Charlotte & Forest Dickson of Brighton.He was preceded in death by three brothers,Stuart, Robert & Charles Perdun.Visistation will be from 5 to 8 p.m Thursday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Friday. Rev. Robert Ellard will officiate.Burial will be in the Kane Cemetery where the Jerseyville American Legion Post 492 conducting military graveside rites.Memorials may be given to the Land of Lincoln Honor Flight to the American Legion Post 492 color guard.
