Brian Zitt

Brian Robert Zitt, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, passion, and unforgettable memories. Born on April 5, 1979, to Daniel and Christine Zitt, Brian lived a life marked by authenticity, deep loyalty, and a personality impossible to ignore.

Brian graduated from Roxana High School in 1997 and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Christian Counseling from Trinity College of Florida in 2017.

Brian made his home in Florida. He loved all sports and thoroughly enjoyed spending time fishing throughout the Tampa Bay Area. He was rarely seen without his faithful little dog, Charlie, who brought him constant companionship and joy. He was deeply rooted in his faith and found great fulfillment through church and Bible study, where he shared his love for Jesus and cherished meaningful conversations about life, faith, and friendship. People gravitated toward Brian because they knew beneath his bold personality was a heart that loved fiercely and without judgement.

He is survived by his loving parents, Daniel and Christine Zitt; his sister, Jennifer Thompson, her husband Cory, and his cherished niece, Ella; along with extended family, dear friends, and everyone whose lives were touched by knowing him.

A celebration of Brian’s life will be held on June 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Beltline Christian Church, 310 Oakwood Avenue, Alton, Illinois, with a luncheon to follow. Donations can be made to the Adult & Teen Challenge Greater Midwest- Peoria/Pekin Men’s Center in Brian’s name at atcgm.org.

Brian will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
