Brian William Gegel, 82, passed away peacefully December 30, 2025 at his residence in Belleville, IL.
Brian was born on November 11, 1943, in Marissa, Illinois. He lived a life marked by dedication, integrity, and deep commitment to his family, friends, and profession. He was a graduate of the University of Illinois and spent his career as a civil engineer with McCarthy Construction Company. An avid outdoorsman, Brian greatly enjoyed fishing and hunting.
Above all, Brian was a devoted husband, father, and family man.

Visitation: Sunday, January 18, 2026, from 1:00 to 2:15 p.m. at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, IL.
Services: A memorial service will be held at 2:15 pm, Sunday, January 18, 2026, at Kurrus Funeral Home with Reverend Lori Kyle of New Covenant Community, Bloomington, IL, officiating.
