Brenda Gott, 53, passed peacefully from this life at 2:23 a.m. on Friday, August 16, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. She was born December 23, 1970 in Jerseyville the daughter of William and Violet (Kappler) Clendenny of Jerseyville. Brenda graduated from Jersey Community High School class of 1989. She worked for many years at Jerseyville Furniture Gallery in Jerseyville and was a member of Gospel Assembly Church in Jerseyville. Besides her parents she is survived by her significant other, Lance Hayes of Jerseyville, one daughter, Cherissa (Robert Schofield) Shown of Jerseyville, two grandchildren, Edison Howard and Rorey Schofield, one brother, Aaron Clendenny of Jerseyville, one sister, Teresa (Jeremy) Laubscher of Jerseyville, and one nephew William Laubscher. Brenda enjoyed spending her time gardening, decorating, and playing with her grandchildren. Visitation will be Saturday, August 24, 2024 from 10 a.m. until time for the Celebration of Life service at 12 p.m. at Gospel Assembly Church in Jerseyville, Reverend Clyde Shaw Sr. Pastor and Reverend Sam Shaw will officiate. A private burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be given to the family. Gent Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
