Brenda Allsman

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Brenda Louise Allsman, who left us on November 7, 2024, at the age of 67.

Brenda was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was known for her sharp tongue, no-nonsense attitude and her legendary ham.

Born on June 24, 1957, in Alton Illinois, Brenda was the daughter of Jake Allsman and Frances (Shewmake) Allsman.

She is survived by Bert Allsman (Bonnie) of East Alton, Chris Allsman (Kim) of East Alton, David Allsman (Tina) of East Alton, Pam Estes of East Alton and Vicki Cherry of Cottage HIlls.

She is preceded in death by both parents, her partner Rodger, two siblings, Rick Allsman of East Alton and Jacob Allsman of East Alton and her beloved dog Annabell. Brenda was known for making her opinions known—loudly and often.

Brenda’s blunt honesty was her signature trait. Despite her gruff exterior, there was always a hidden love underneath it all—especially when it came to her grandkids, who she often tolerated, even though they drove her nuts.

Brenda was a woman of routine. She loved black coffee, "The Walking Dead," crossword puzzles, and wishing everyone a happy birthday a day too early. She had a particular fondness for her dog Tinker and only wearing house slippers.

She is also survived by her children, Marty Maness (KImberly) of Alton, Keith Maness (Daina) of East Alton and Billy Maness (Kandice) of East Alton, her grandchildren Alissa (Brandon), Avery (Ryan),Tyler, Landon, Isis, Kylie, Becca, River, Miyah and Liam and her great grandchild Paisley. She will also be missed by friends she's made through the years.

A service to celebrate the life of Brenda will be held on Nov. 16, 2024 from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m. at 506 E. Airline Dr, Rosewood Heights. Please come with stories to tell and any pictures you would like to share.

Brenda may have been tough on the outside, but deep down, she cared for everyone and tried her hardest to make every event. She’ll be missed in ways that only someone like her could be—unforgettably and with a little bit of eye-rolling. Rest in peace, Brenda. We hope there’s a Bingo game up there waiting for you.
