Brandon Johnson Victor Blasa, age 36, passed away on Saturday, January 13th, 2024.
Brandon was born on November 3, 1987 in Jerseyville, Illinois to his late parents, Lisa Gail Benton and Terry Darren Blasa.
He is survived by his siblings and step-siblings, including Masey Blasa of Greeley, Colorado and Taylor Laubscher of Alton, Illinois; his grandmother, Thelma Rayls of Jerseyville, Illinois and multiple aunts, uncles and cousins. He had a close relationship with his cousin and dearest friend, Dallas Day Jr.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lisa Gail Benton and Terry Darren Blasa; his grandmother, Betty Albrecht; grandfather, Adolph “Al” Albrecht; grandfather, Wilber Blasa; grandfather, Ronald Rayls; as well as two uncles, Michael “Mike” Blasa and Stephen “Steve” Hartwick.
Brandon was an artistic person, inspired by his father Terry’s passion for creativity. He made elaborate cards for his family members every year for their birthdays and spent time sketching tattoo inspiration.
He also enjoyed weight-lifting, reading and listening to music that spoke to him, including the song “Simple Man” by Lynyrd Skynyrd, which his mother devoted to him.
Brandon dreamed of traveling the world and spending his future in destinations new to him. Brandon was a deeply sensitive soul who cared deeply for his family, especially his late mother Lisa, who was the light of his life. He always stated he could only hope to be half the person she was to him to others.
Brandon had many friends throughout his life and his memory will live on with them. He will forever be remembered for his playful personality, endless jokes, his love for his family and friends and his deep loyalty to those he cared about.
Per his family’s request, there will be no public services.
