Bonnie Belle Finch, 87, died at 8:22 a.m. on Monday, March 14, 2016 at OSF St. Anthony’s in Alton. She was born July 1, 1928 in Wood River, IL the daughter of the late Otto and Velma Pearl Blackard. She was a member of Community Christian Church where she cared for the flowers many years and worked at the Madison County Courthouse. She loved her family and friends, dancing, singing and collecting magnets and fans. On January 22, 1966 in Wood River she married William Edward Finch and he preceded her in death on March 21, 1980. She was a “beloved sweet Mother “to three daughters and two sons; Beverly Menk of Houston, TX, Marilyn Spooner of Naples, FL, Jean Finch of Ballwin, MO and John Finch (Heather) of Thompson Station, TN, and the late William Menk, seven grandchildren, Jennifer Hansen, Brian Spooner, Valerie Menk, Andrew Bates, Ryan Blunda, Molly Finch and Ashley Finch, four great grandchildren, Katelyn Hansen, Rebecca Hansen, Isaac Allen and Serenity Allen. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Blackard and Dick Blackard. Visitation will be Thursday, March 17, 2016 from 4:00 -8:00 p.m. at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016 with Pastor Dave Burger to officiate. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association.
