Bonita Goodrich

Bonita “Bonnie” (Maltimore) Sherman Goodrich, 89, passed away at 6:37 p.m., Monday, March 9, 2026, at Jerseyville Manor.

She was born on April 28, 1936, in Jerseyville, Illinois, the daughter of the late Edward and Josephine (Kraushaar) Maltimore.

Bonnie married Wendell Sherman on April 27, 1954, and together they began building a life centered on family. Their marriage was blessed with two children and many years of shared memories before his passing on May 15, 1991. Later in life, she found love again and married Donald Goodrich on November 6, 2002. They enjoyed their years together until his death on September 20, 2019.

Family was always at the heart of Bonnie’s life. She treasured the time spent with her children and grandchildren, finding great joy in the moments when everyone could be together. Her home was a source of pride for her, a place she cared for with dedication and attention. She especially enjoyed tending to her yard, flowers, and garden, where she could often be found nurturing the things she loved and watching them grow.

Bonnie also enjoyed simple pleasures such as camping and fishing, activities that allowed her to spend time outdoors and create lasting memories with those closest to her. Through the years she remained devoted to her family and the life she built around them, always finding happiness in their presence.

She is survived by her two children and their spouses, Vickie and James Bland and Rick and Vicki Sherman, all of Jerseyville; four grandchildren, Mike Bland, Brad Bland, Andrea Yoder and Leah Knabe; and five great grandchildren, Lucas Bland, Jackson and Lola Yoder, and Lettie and Lawson Knabe.

In addition to her parents and her husbands, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Foster and Opal Kruckberg, and four brothers, Joe, Raymond, Perry and Edward Maltimore.

Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m., Friday, March 13, 2026, at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Memorials may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association.
