Bobby Johnson, 81, passed away at 1:42 am on December 6, 2016 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
He was born on June 2, 1935 in Hoxie, Arkansas the son of John Allen and Mattie (Cook) Johnson.
Bobby was a former member of St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Wood River. He loved watching old cowboy movies, traveling with family. He also enjoyed his antique cars and going to antique car shows and swap meets.
He is survived by three daughters, Linda Bland(Ed) of Godfrey, Brenda and Jennifer Johnson of Wood River; one brother Van Johnson (Jane) of Wood River; one sister Pat Coleman of Branson Missouri; one grandson Christopher Hardin (Alexandra) of Baltimore, Maryland: one great-granddaughter Anastasia Hardin of Baltimore Maryland; and several nieces, nephews, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren; his former wife, Judy Johnson of Edwardsville.
In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his Brother J.R. Johnson, Joe Everett Johnson, and his sister Louise Fisher.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm Thursday December 8, 2016 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton where a prayer service will be held at 3:30 pm
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 am Friday December 9, 2016 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alton.
Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Hospital or the Salvation Army.
