Blanche Mager

Blanche Ellen Mager, age 87, of Alton, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017, at her home.She was born September 7, 1929, in Alton, the daughter of Paul and Grace (Phillips) Ufert. She married George N. Mager on July 2, 1949 at Grace United Methodist Church in Alton, and he preceded her in death.Blanche retired from Alton Senior High School where she had worked as a secretary.She is survived by three children and their spouses, Karen and Ron Maggart of Fieldon, Larry and Jacque Mager of Ohio, and Kent Mager of Illinois; five grandchildren, Jeremy Maggart, George Mager, David Mager, Paul Mager, and Deborah Mager; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Pauline Hogue of Alton; and many other relatives and friends.She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; and a sister, Doris Carpenter.Visitation will be held Thursday, February 23, 2017, from 10:00 am until the time of service at Noon, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton with Pastor Charles Schwaab officiating.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to BJC Hospice.Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of the arrangements.Online condolences and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
