Billy D. Griffin, 78, of Godfrey, passed away at 3:19 am on Mon Oct 8, 2018 at Barnes Hospital in St Louis after complications of skin cancer and other health issues.
He was born on July 19, 1940 in Scottsboro, AL to Bill & Sibyl (Dean) Griffin.
He married Judy (Wilkerson) Griffin on May 27, 1960 in Fort Payne, AL.
He is survived by his wife Judy Griffin of Godfrey, sons & daughter in law; Brad Griffin of Brighton and BJ & Amy Griffin of St Charles, MO, 3 grandchildren; Abigail, Lydia and William Griffin.
He was an operator for the Union Pacific Railroad for 36 years.
He grew up in Dutton, AL and graduated from the Section, AL High School in 1958.
He was a member of the Eagles and Moose in Alton and an honorary member of the Tri-County Rod and Gun Club. He was an avid golfer and Cardinal Baseball fan. He enjoyed spending time with family and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, son; Brian Griffin and brother; Herman Griffin.
Visitation will be 5-8 pm Thurs Oct 11, 2018 at Targhetta F H in Brighton
Funeral Services will be at 10 am on Fri Oct 12, 2018 at Targhetta FH in Brighton with Pastor Don Letson officiating.
Burial will be in Brighton Cemetery
