Betty Sauls

Betty D. Sauls, graduated to her heavenly home at 8:45 p.m. Monday, September 12, 2016 at her residence.

Born Greenbriar, MO, she was the daughter of Robert Loyd and Helen Irene (Massey) Garner.

She had worked in the nursing field as a C.N.A. for over 40 years at St. Joseph Hospital, Wood River Township Hospital, VIP Manor and as private health home duty provider.

On November 24, 1989 at the Agape Christian Fellowship Church in Godfrey, she married Paul A. Sauls.  He survives.

Surviving also are a son, Mark Allen (Cindi Little) of Forest Homes; daughter, Kris Lavite of Wood River; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Garner (Courtney Berry), Brooke Lavite (Dominic Baumann), Summer Lavite (Adam Leathers), Dillon Lavite (Caitlyn Oberheim), Taylor Allen, Tanner Allen, Adam Allen; three great grandchildren, Kingston, Bailey and Olivia; three brothers, Darrell (Linda) Garner of Cottage Hills, Stan (Annette) Garner of Marble Hill, MO, Jim (Tori) Garner of St. Charles, MO; and her little special Shih Tzu, "Holly Anne".

Preceding her in death were her parents; a sister, JoAnn Bertels; and two very special friends, Janet Moore and Martha Glass.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service at 12 p.m. Saturday at Word and Spirit Family Church, 5012 Humbert Rd, Alton.  Pastor David Prosser will officiate.

Burial will be in Short Cemetery in Cottage Hills.

Memorials may be made to Word and Spirit Family Church, where she was a member.

Betty's family would like to thank the wonderful, caring staff at St. Anthony's Hospital 2W, especially Carley, Rachel and Lisa as well as the nursing supervisors, Georgia and Lisa.
