Betty Williams

Betty Rae Williams, age 95 died at 8:48 AM on Friday, December 15, 2017 at her residence surrounded by her family.  She was born in Alton on July 20, 1922 the daughter of the late Edward and Marguerite (Krill) Slenker.  On October 10, 1947 in Alton she married Norman “Kenny” Williams and he preceded her in death on February 22, 1991.  Betty attended numerous churches in the Alton area.  Her greatest accomplishment was the joy of raising her family. Surviving are a son; Gary Williams (Sherry) of Alton, and his children; Gary Jr, Chris and Nicole, two other sons; Edward Williams and Billy Williams, a daughter; Mary Williams (Fiancé Kevin Boswell) and her children; Matthew, Marcus, Katie and Kayla, a daughter; Norma Davison (Norton) and her son Jacob.  Other surviving grandchildren are Randall Williams Jr, Joshua, Tiffany, Angela and Christie, numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.  Also surviving are a sister; Gladys Boren of White Hall.  She was preceded in death by two daughters; Barbara and Peggy Williams, four sons; Norman Kenneth Williams Jr, Jimmy, Randy and Kirk Williams, one brother; Warren Slenker and two sisters; Marguerite Crowson and Merle Knowles.Visitation will be Monday, December 18, 2017 from 4:00 -8:00 PM at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where the funeral service will be 11:00 AM Tuesday.  Rev.
