Betty Jane Looney, 77, died at 2:40 a.m. Friday, April 11, 2014 at Alton Rehabilitation and Nursing. Born September 28, 1936 in Golden Eagle, IL, she was the daughter of Louis and Kathryn (Horman) Shandrow. She married Cleo Looney on September 12, 1952 in Arkansas. He preceded her in death on February 10, 1993.
Surviving are two sons, Daniel Looney of Elsah and Steven Looney (Denise Jackson) of Grafton, a grandson, Steven Looney of Grafton, and a sister, Mary Jackson of Cape Girardeau, MO. Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter Janet Sue Looney and a sister, Delores Wahl.
Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Monday, April 14, 2014 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
