Betty J. (Sansom) Elmore, 88, passed away at 12:01 am, on Wednesday, April 25, 2018, at Alton Memorial Hospital.
She was born on March 27, 1930, in Hickman, KY, the daughter of Samuel Dickerson Sansom and Vacey Valley (Graves) Sansom. Betty married Doss Elmore on March 27, 1950 in Corinth, MS. He preceded her in death on July 28, 2009.
Betty was in several quilting clubs including “Button Babes”. She liked sewing, going to the Alton Belle Casino and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by three daughters, Gloria Jean King of Moro, Dorothy Kay and Rocky Kinnison of Gillepie and Sandra Fay Kessmann of Moro; five grandchildren, Nikki and Ashley Clark, Andy, Adam, and Alexis Mick; six great grandchildren, Micheal, Jordan and Aliya, Hastings, Breuer and Moses.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
A memorial visitation will be Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 1 pm to 4 pm at the family’s home, at 6422 Black Rail Drive, Moro, IL 62067. Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto is in charge of arrangements.
