Betty J. Fritz , 86, passed away at 11:25 am Monday, October 13, 2014 at Alton Memorial Hospital, while under the care of BJC Hospice.
She was born April 27, 1928 in Creal Springs, IL, the daughter of Carl and Recca (Dunge) Suit.
She married John “Jack” M. Fritz on May 4, 1946 in Alton, IL. He passed away in January 1993.
Betty was a sales clerk at J.C. Penney for 20 years. She enjoyed dancing and spending time with all her family.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Patricia Fritz of East Prairie, MO and a daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Dan Harvey of East Alton; three grandchildren and a spouse, Danny Fritz, Jennifier Fritz and Kayla and Jeremy Hosford and three great grandchildren, Erinn, Bradly and Logan.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Thursday, October 16, 2014 at the funeral home with Pastor Willard Meyer officiating.
Burial will follow at St Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
