Betty J. Copeland, 82, passed away at 8:35 pm Saturday January 28, 2012 at home.
She was born on November 11, 1929 in Crawford County, Missouri, the daughter of Archie & Maude Burns.
She married Willie S. Copeland on October 17, 1947 in Herman, MO. He preceded her in death on October 10, 2007.
She was a member of Brown Street Baptist Church in Alton.
She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Copeland of Alton; one daughter-in-law, Sandi Copeland of St. Peters, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Laura Copeland, Pamela Artise, Annette & Jeanette Copeland, Michelle DeHan, Brandy Blaine, Joshua Blaine and William Jones; nine great grandchildren, Hannah, Shelbie, Summer Lee Rose, Kaleb, Jaxon, Brandon, Myakell, Trevor and Emma Anne; and one sister, Ruth Burns of Missouri
In addition to her parents, a son, William Jerry Copeland: one daughter, Barbara Ellen Beasley, and one brother, Jimmy Burns, also preceded her in death.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 10 am until time of funeral services at 12 noon on Thursday, February 2, 2012 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton with Pastor Mike Myers officiating.
Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
