Betty L. Cook, 72, of East Alton passed away Saturday, January 27, 2024. She was born February 10, 1951, in Alton to Alonzo and Essie (Hogg) Walker. She married Dale Cook April 24, 1970, in East Alton. Betty ran her own hair salon for many years before retiring. In her free time she enjoyed crafting, making flower arrangements. Shopping and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Dale Cook of East Alton; son, Brian (Kristina) Cook of New Douglas; daughter, Brande Cook of Wood River; grandchildren Katie and Brandon Cook; brother, Troy Walker of Godfrey and sister, Earlene House of Wood River.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers; Kenneth, Luke and Wilbur Walker and a sister Mae Burgin.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m. Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Paynic Home for Funerals in East Alton. Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the American Diabetes Association. Online guestbook available at www.paynicfh.com
