Betty Fitzgibbons

Betty C. Fitzgibbons, 84, died at 10:35 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, 2018 at Jersey Nursing and Rehab in Jerseyville. Born May 23, 1934 in Alton, she was the daughter of Henry G. and Anita A. (Atkins) Bock. On June 18, 1956 she married John F. Fitzgibbons in Godfrey. He preceded her in death. Mrs. Fitzgibbons retired from both Owens Illinois Glass in Alton as well as the Olin Corporation. She was a member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Jerseyville. Surviving are two daughters, Jackie Cox (Dennis) of Delhi and Rhonda Perez (Jim) of Decorah, Iowa, four grandchildren, Brandy Kribs (Tim), Rebecca Zeibert (Joe), Denny Cox (Tiffany), and Katelyn Perez, 12 great grandchildren, one brother, Glenn Bock of Brighton and three sisters, Alice Dunham of Godfrey, Jo Ann Hall of Brighton and Peggy Hart of Carlinville. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Barney, Bill and Charles Bock and a sister, Maggie Heitzman. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Father Martin Smith will officiate. Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey. Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
